Begin Your Adventure at The Morton Arboretum in Illinois

A walk around the grounds of the Arboretum in Lysle, Illinois is fun any time of year. But spring is my favorite time. After a long winter nap it is refreshing to view all of the early blooms on flowering trees.

Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia

The scenes in this set of pictures tells a story all by themselves. You can certainly see why they are called the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. Thanks to my sister who decided to take a few shots on her way home from work.

This is also an example of why photos are so important to mark the travels in our lives. Dodie has moved back to Pennsylvania so we may not get to see as many pictures from this beautiful state. West Virginia Scenery

I got these pictures while traveling to visit family in West Virgina. It is nice when you have family in different states. Gives one a great excuse for traveling and sharing. We used to visit Pricket's Fort quite often in the summer time. Every summer you can see how pioneers lived when they first settled here. Volunteers dress and cook and tell you how it used to be.

If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend a trip through those West Virginia hills. They are a site to see. You never know when you might come upon a scene that is just unforgetable. Like this old country bridge I spotted along the highway. It's destiny has long been overgrown by tall weeds. And yet it stands for you to see.

And finally there is nothing more refreshing than to step outside in the early morning fog and look out over miles and miles of beautiful hills.

State Parks And Forest Preserves

It doesn't matter what they are called, a rose by any other name. Here are a couple scenic wallpaper pictures of state parks and forest preserves. West Virginia may be a small state but it isn't short on state parks. Here is another scene at Pricket's Fort

Cooper's Rock is yet another park that will have you climbing up and down trails. My nephew said on his first visit there, "Mom why didn't you tell us about this!" He was so excited exploring the trails and caves all around the park. It is a young boys dream come true.

And finally on our tour is a scene I have never been able to capture again. We were visiting Herrick Lake Forest Preserve at just about sundown. The sunlight shinging on these rental boats make the perfect computer background picture.
