I have had fun finding opportunies to take rosebud pictures in California at the end of September. I've also enjoyed taking them in Illinois on my walks. It has been my experience that there are lots of rose lovers every where you go. I know the rose is one of my favorite flowers

I had fun with the first image you see in this row. Using photo artistic effects I gave this pink rosebud a chalk and charcoal look.
Image number two is of dried rosebuds that my mom created. You know how so often when we receive a vase of roses, they are usually still in bud. The idea, I'm sure is that they will open to their full blooming abundance. Many times that doesn't happen and they seem to die before they open.
Mom decided to savor the buds longer and dried her boquet of roses. They look hauntingly lovely on her Organ top with the sun shining in. This is the only picture in this group that was actually taken in WV.
The last rosebud in this row was taken in California. Imagine what this beautiful orange rose will reveal as it opens.
Here are more rosbud pictures taken in California. Two pink buds decorate the gardens in one of the apartment complexes.
And last in this row is a hybrid tea rose often called "Blue Girl". As you can see blue roses are not really blue. If you like them, you may want to check out my page about Blue Colored Roses.
The middle rose bud is still in it's early stages and just opening up. It is the one taken in California. When they open you really won't be able to tell much of a difference even though they are planted miles apart.
And finally the last rose is an example of a late blooming yellow rose in Illinois. Notice how the tops are a bit curled? It may not make it to full bloom before cold weather sets in.
