The first stop on our journey is to visit a few squirrel pictures. The cutest thing about squirrels is their tails I think. Apparently that is common because it seems to be what hunters collect as well. It's not uncommon to see a tail flying from the antenna of a car. But I prefer capturing my squirrels with a camera. Check them out by clicking on the first thumbnail in this row.

Next in our furry friend parade are pictures of rabbits. Who can resist a furry rabbit? They are so darling. This sample picture I captured while walking to the park one day. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed the tiniest of rabbits exploring a neighbor's yard. With the help of my zoom I was able to capture him through the blades of grass. Kinda looks like he's saying, come follow me to see more pictures of rabbits...
And what adventure with our furry friends would be complete without a deer or two? Come visit Canaan Valley, WV with us. The deer are so friendly there they will come up and lick your hand. I think it is probably the salt more than anything that they are interested in. My sister even got a deer kiss on the cheek. Now that's up close and personal with a deer.
Speaking of photo opportunities, while walking in the park one day, I met a fellow photographer. We both had our cameras in hand. His name is Ray Upham and he has a fantastic website with some really lovely Nature Photographs you may enjoy. I highly reccomend you visit Ray Upham's Nature Pictures Gallery(opens in new window)
I don't like spiders and snakes! Do you remember that song? It was a cute one and so true for most of us. Who does like them? Well I know a few little boys who are truly fascinated by them. And you have to admit they are fun to look at in pictures where we know we are safe.
Turtles on the other hand seem to like coming out to sun themselves. I have many turtle pictures of the little guys sunning on a log. But like the guy in this middle picture, sometimes they pick a log that is almost not big enough. Be sure and check this section out to see a whole pile of turtles enjoying the same log.
Often times you will hear frogs way before you see them. Kids seem to have a knack for catching frogs. Photographers, on the other hand, are not always so lucky. I have to say that every frog picture I have taken was a gift to me from mother nature herself. My intuition has seen these creatures in places I have later wondered how on earth I ever spotted the frog at the angle I was walking. Perhaps this is why kids are so good at finding them. Their intuition is still in high form.
Here's a site that will bring you a few more hours of nature fun and information. For additional nature pictures and information on wildflowers and native species from the state of Ohio visit this site all about. Ohio Nature Pictures(opens in new window)
Imagine looking out over a panoramic view. All you can see for miles and miles are beautiful trees and a river below that you know is huge. But from your vantage point it looks tiny. These are the kinds of images that create the best nature landscapes. See this one and more by clicking the Nature Landscapes page link above.
A walk along the river is made easy when the park district puts in the river for you. Is the river man made or have we simply enhanced it by adding sidewalks and walls? Either way they make for some fascinating scenic pictures. And don't stop at the River Walk, move on into the WV hills and travel to Pricketts Fort. You'll find this and more among these scenic nature pictures.
And nature certainly has its seasons. The last image in this row is a winter scene taken at a park in Illinois. You will find a whole page of winter photography samples when you click on the thumbnail.
Are you looking to expand your experiences as a nature explorer? How would you like to get some of your own nature pictures? I highly recommend Coastal Revelations Nature Vacations(opens in new window)
There is just something both exhilerating and soothing about the sound of flowing water. Whether you are camping, or simply walking in the woods nearby, you will be moved by this sound.
Perhaps this is why indoor fountains are so popular. Let me please your senses with these waterfall pictures. These three are just a sample of what you have to look forward to.
Perhaps in all of this you are really just looking for free images to download. Well you're in the right place. The last picture in this row is a sample of a photo you will find on yet another page of nature and flower pictures.
Mushrooms are truly mystical in nature. You wake up one morning and there they are in different areas of yard, field, forests and more. You never really know when or where they are going to pop up. Granted they are more likely after a rain. I am no expert, that is for sure, but I have taken pictures of some pretty strange looking mushrooms.
This Canadian Goose picture is just one sample of the wildlife you will find in this gallery to use as desktop wallpaper. And because desktop images are bigger you can even create lovely greeting cards to give to friends and family.
Praying mantis seem to have a personality of their own. This guy looks like he is waving at you, doesn't he? Are you looking for the perfect fine are print to match your wild heart?
