White african moon flowers are members of the daisy family. These flowers are also known by the common names: Ox-eyed daisy, Rain daisy, Cape Daisy and Witbotterblom.

They are common throughout North America blooming mid-summer in most locations. They are native to South Africa which is where the original name comes from.

Purple and white stripe is one of many colors and varieties you will find in petunias. Is it any wonder they brighten gardens in almost any neighborhood. And they make excellent free flower pictures. That may be one reason why these flowers are so popular in local gardens. Riverwalk in Naperville, IL. can always be counted on for a variety of petunias to enjoy.

The beautiful pink flowers in this picture are also related to the composite family. Daisy flowers of all kinds are very popular in gardens. As you can see they blend well with other plants to round out your flower garden.

Purple Clematis

These lilies were growing along the edge the sidewalk. They were among yellow and pink lilies. Did you know that some lilies are edible? But they are poisonous to cats. You can read more about that here Pictures of Lilies

One look at the orange trumpet flowers and you can imagine where the name came from. These free flower pictures had to be taken up close. Can you tell these flowers are really very small.

Here is a clematis vine trained to grow up a pole.  Looks like a ball of beautiful purple. It makes a nice addition to this neighbors garden.

You might see a clematis trained to grow up a trellis as well. They make excellent natural privacy fences for almost any front porch.

Finally in this collection of free flower pictures is a collection of wildflowers. Theres flowers can be seen growing in forest preserve parks here locally in Warrenville, IL

The first in the set is Chicory. This wildflower grows along roadsides and in fields all around North America.  You can often see it growing along roadsides from June to October.

You may know chicory as an herb. Roasted chicory roots are often used as an additive to coffee. You don't want too much though if you like coffee as a stimulant.

Next is a tiny blue flower that kind of resembles a clowns hat. It goes by two common names, bittersweet flower and deadly nightshade.

Do you suppose someone tried tasting the red berries this plant produces? This flower is a member of the tomato family

And finally here is beautiful yellow flower known as St. Johnswort. I think this is one of the prettiest of the free flower pictures available here.

You might know st. johnswort for it's mood elevating qualities as an herb remedy. But did you know that it is harmful to livestock?

You can read more about it in the following article http://www.montana.edu/wwwpb/ag/st_johns.html from the Montana State University.
