Flower Garden Pictures

If you want beautiful flower garden pictures, you have to start with a beautiful flower garden. A walk down any neighborhood in early summer will reward you with a colorful show.

Flower gardens are as different as the people who create them.  They can be found in the middle of a downtown shopping area or on your neighbor's balcony.

Flower gardens often reflect the true nature of their designer. They also reflect the nature of the area they are placed in. After all, you wouldn't want to try growing a water loving willow tree in the desert, would you?

In this section you will find a sample of beautiful flower garden pictures from around Illinois. There are even a couple from family spreading love of nature from Virginia and West Virginia.

These pictures are free to download for personal use and entertainment. All of the images on this site are reduced in size for ease of use. If you are looking for large format pictures, please contact me.

Every garden picture tells a unique story. When you design your flower garden you are sharing with the world a little of your heart and soul. Well not literally but a garden tells what the gardener prefers don't you think?

Take the middle picture here. This gardener likes an easy to care for garden. No worry about pesky weeds climbing in. And with this kind of retainer wall it makes for easy trimming of the yard. Kind of the best of both worlds. You get the freedom of flowers and a nice neat yard too.

City planners who put flower gardens for their patrons and visitors to enjoy have something in mind don't you think? I walk along the riverwalk quite often as do many people. And one of the biggest attractions of this little town of Naperville, Illinois are the flower gardens that grace each path. You can get lost in a world of covered bridges, lilies, roses, daisies and so much more. And you might even have the opportunity to hear their world famous music tower with 72 bronze bells that chimes every hour.

This first garden is what I call making good use of what has been given to you. I bet this is the kind of gardener who says "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade." The fire hydrant fits like a glove in the garden setting. That bright red color just blends right in.

Martha Martin from West Virginia, contributed this giant poppy picture from her garden. She loves her flower garden and in the early spring you are sure to see her out their pruning and trimming her labor of love.

Do you have a small space that could use a more inviting look. This garden bench makes a great place to relax at the end of the day. Looks like a cool place to sit and read or just take in the butterflies that are sure to come visit.

My sister Dodie, who currently lives in Virginia, said these neighborhood flower gardens reminded her of me. She knows I love angels whether they are visiting your garden or watching over my shoulder. They make great companions.

These pictures were contributed by Dodie McCandless.  Dodie loves nature and flowers as much as I do but her real passion is art. She does art by commission.  You can check out Dodie's new gallery at Dodie's Art Gallery
