Flower gardens are as diverse as their creators. They can be found in the middle of a downtown shopping area or on your neighbor's balcony.
Flower gardens often reflect the true nature of their designer. They also reflect the nature of the area they are placed in. After all, you wouldn't want to try growing a water loving willow tree in the desert, would you?
Daffodils Spring Flower Garden
Your first photo opportunity will be late march or early April as beautiful daffodils rise from their winter nap. Next tulips of every shade begin their parade of color.
As summer skips around the corner you'll see many different blooming flowers. The Iris happens to be one of my favorites.
Finally Autumn peeks its head through the crowd of resting summer blooms. Autumn flowers may even outshine spring and summer put together with it's brilliant array of colors.
True flower lovers may even count winter flowers such as Christmas Cactus and Poinsetta. Who says you can't take your flower garden inside for a little while? I even have African Violets that bloom all year long.
Reflections in Windowsill Offer Flower Garden Pictures
Walking through downtown Naperville, IL I looked up to notice this window box full of plants and flowers. The tree behind me shows as a reflection in the window. What could be more sacred than to fill your heart with appreciation for these abundant gifts of nature.
Many people view their garden as the most sacred space in their lives. I know that when I am in my garden all the world disappears. And all the stresses of the day fade into these beautiful sacred of all places.
Zen teachings often recommend spending time in your garden to get back in touch with your true spirit. Sometimes you may even enjoy the company of a garden fairy or two.
One thing is certain, you will not be alone in your enjoyment of your garden. The beauty and fragrances that permeate the air will invite many to your favorite place.
Dodie was walking in her neighborhood one day when she spotted several gardens. Each one had it's own expression of inspiration. She wrote me to say, "I saw these gardens today, and I thought of you." Read Dodie's Flower Garden Story here...

Some Flower Gardens Win Prizes For Community Pride
In an effort to enhance awareness of community, many neighborhoods have most beautiful lawn and garden contests. These contests may be sponsored by local communities or associations.
The winner of these contests are very proud to share their lovely gardens. The biggest reward may come in bragging rights.
On my walk one day I saw my neighbor tending to her flower gardens. I often wanted to take pictures but did not want to invade her privacy. So I took this opportunity to ask permission. She was happy to give her ok.
She then went on to say her garden had one an award this year. This award was bigger than just the local community contest. Later I noticed a large sign in her yard signifying her flower garden was one among a chosen few.
The pictures of her flower garden speak for themselves. This is a woman who loves her garden.
Her words to me that day simply reinforced my awareness of the pleasure she receives, “Gardens don’t grow on their own, you know. Once the flowers are in the ground they need constant nurturing.”
And her garden is well nurtured and cared for as you can see.

Weed Free Easy Care Flower Garden
Feel the energy of love and abundance as you dance through these flower gardens. Every one tells a story all by itself. You can approach this journey in the way that feels best to you.
When you design your flower garden you are sharing with the world a little of your heart and soul. Well not literally but a garden tells what the gardener prefers don't you think?
This picture is a fine example. This gardener likes an easy to care for garden. No worry about pesky weeds climbing in. And with this kind of retainer wall it makes for easy trimming of the yard. Kind of the best of both worlds. You get the freedom of flowers and a nice neat yard too.
Park Flower Gardens Created to Enhance Your Walk
City planners who put flower gardens for their patrons and visitors to enjoy have something in mind as well. I walk along the Riverwalk quite often as do many people. And one of the biggest attractions of this little town of Naperville, Illinois are the flower gardens that grace each path.
You can get lost in a world of covered bridges, lilies, roses, daisies and so much more. And you might even have the opportunity to hear Naperville's Millennium Carillon with 72 bronze bells that chime every hour.
Dog Friendly Garden
This creative garden is what I call making good use of what has been given to you. I bet this is the kind of gardener who says "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade." The fire hydrant fits like a glove in the garden setting. That bright red color just blends right in.
I wonder how many dogs find this garden attractive?
Garden Bench Overlooking Beautful Flowers
Do you have a small space that could use a more inviting look. This garden bench makes a great place to relax at the end of the day. Looks like a cool place to sit and read or just take in the butterflies that are sure to come visit.
People who live in Condominiums, Twin Homes or Apartments often have limited space to plant flower gardens. This just means to the garden lover that those creative juices will get a great work out.
Look around and you’ll see lots of container gardens that do the trick. As a matter of fact some people prefer planting their gardens in containers. It’s fun finding just the right container for the plant you have in mind.
Container Garden On Wheels
And your garden is often mobile. I’ve even seen large pots on wheels so the plants will always have the perfect light. That is if you plan to go out during different times of the day and move them.
Some Flower Gardens Thrive in Water
Who says you have to have dirt to have a garden? There are a variety of plants that grow in water. The Arboretum in Lisle, IL have Hyacinth water lilies.
And the cool thing about growing flowers in ponds is you can also have gold fish to enjoy while you're outside. Visit my water lily picture page to enjoy more pond ideas.
Every Flower Garden Reveals The Story Behind Its Design
And so as the story goes, flower garden pictures like flower gardens come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors. Let your imagination take off as your eyes rest on the beauty you see here.
