Why are they called daylilies? It is because they live for only a day. And when the flower dies off at the end of the day it is replaced by another the following morning.
These beautiful lilies are very popular all around the parks and homes here in Illinois. I took most of these daylilies pictures at the Naperville River Walk. I am not sure what the beautiful pink lilies are really called but they bloom all along the river wall.
