Blue Sailor or Chicory Flower

Looked up chicory/blue sailors and found your website. You reference them as far west as Nebraska but we have lots of them around West Linn, Oregon, which is 11 miles upriver from Portland. They bloom about the same time as Queen Anne's Lace and when mixed together remind me of the colors of Wedgewood china. TN

Thank you Tom for letting me know. Seems I need to update my information on Chicory. It is quite interesting how nature has a way of adapting and changing over time.

The book I used to right my Chicory page was written when pioneers were still settling here. And I guess they carried a few chicory seeds with them as they went.

Who says blue sailors need water to sail on? A wagon train will do just fine.

Tom didn't share a picture with his note. So I added my own just for flare. This Chicory flower picture was taken here in Northern Illinois.

If you have a nature or flower picture story of your own, I invite you to pass it along.

Thanks Tom,

Sally
