Aster Flowers or Composite Flower Pictures

Aster flowers are the showiest of all the wild flowers. Right around the end of June they start to pop their blooming heads for all to see. Now you can enjoy these beautiful flowers all year long with a single click of your mouse.

This section of the daisy pictures family of flowers is devoted to asters. If you look close at these flower pictures you can see that they are truly a part of the composite family. A composite flower is one that includes a cluster of tiny flowers in the center, which is the common feature of all daisy flowers.

Asters are pretty fascinating as wildflowers go. They put on quite a show around the beginning of July here in Illinois and last well into September. This year I even saw them growing into early October.

I believe the thing that makes them stand out most is the many petals they have. They are a beautiful fancy flower worthy of cutting for an arrangement on the dining room table. Many people like planting this one in their home garden for that very reason. Now you can enjoy them all year round with these free to download images.

This first flower is a view from the side. Doesn't the base of this flower look like a tiny pineapple?

In the middle image you can see the same flower from above. Notice the long lacy petals of these flowers.

The last picture in this row is of a field of tiny blue wildflowers. All of the aster family are members of the daisy or composite family.

Aster Flowers Summer and Fall Pictures

Although they are wildflowers, these blooms put on quite a show. They are not like many of the wild flowers you see that are so tiny you can barely tell they are flowers. Plus these flowers grow in large patches so that you are impressed with their beautiful purple rays.
