It is easy to photograph these friendly deer. My sister and I visited Canaan Valley in October just for that very purpose.

Since I grew up in West Virginia, I am almost reluctant to say that this was my first visit to Canaan Valley. I have heard it said that many people live a life time in New York and never see the Empire State Building.

The wildlife are protected here. So it is not surprising that the deer will come up and lick your hand. I think they must like the salt:). This picture was taken as a deer approached us on site. I did some photo enhancing to sharpen color and create a more pleasing animal desktop wallpaper.
